The Grace Christian boys and the Mt. Edgecumbe girls basketball team cruised to wins Saturday to claim the team titles at the Grace Christian Classic.
Trevor Osborne, the tournament MVP for the boys, supplied 23 points for Grace in a 68-31 win over Galena.
Payton Weisz, the girls' MVP, scored nine points to help Mt. Edgecumbe thump Nome 62-35.
The Grizzlies and the Braves both finished with 3-0 records in the three-day, round-robin tournament.
Grace boys 68, Galena 31
Trevor Osborne tallied 10 points in the first quarter to carry Grace to an early 20-7 lead.
Osborne, whose 23 points included five 3-pointers, was joined in double figures by teammate Tobin Karlberg, who added 16.
Mt. Edgecumbe girls 62, Nome 35
Julie Amaktoolik put Mt. Edgecumbe on the fast track early, scoring nine of her game-high 17 points in the first quarter.
The Braves, who led 23-11 after one quarter, got 15 points from Daisy Hunt in their third straight tournament win.
Leading the way for Nome was Senora Ahmasuk with 13 points.
Grace girls 65, Galena 37
Sarah Laker tossed in 20 points to lead a quartet of double-figure scorers in Grace Christian's romp over Galena.
Annie Vanderweide added 15, Hayley Hagen had 12 and Makenna Shamburger 10 for the Grizzlies.
Grace led by two after the first quarter but used a 17-4 run in the second quarter to grab a 32-17 halftime lead.
Galena got a boost from Julia Riddle (13 points) and Kameron Reitan (11).
Mt. Edgecumbe boys 61, Nome 25
Bobby Pate poured in 20 points and Paul Bioff added 10 to power Mt. Edgecumbe's win over Nome.
Ian Booth dropped in 16 points for the Nanooks.
