Prep riflery: Dimond shooters on target in impressive win

Dimond 7, East 0

All three Dimond teams scored more 1,110 points and every shooter fired a 277 or better Friday to lead the Lynx to an impressive Cook Inlet Conference riflery win over visiting East.

Dimond finished with 3,384 points, which included Seth Franklin's perfect score of 100 in prone shooting. Franklin finished with a match-high 289.

East was no slouch, getting prone scores of 100 from Mary Ek and Kassandra Diamond.

Bartlett 4, South 3

William Wood led Bartlett to a narrow 4-3 Cook Inlet Conference riflery victory over South by shooting a match-leading 287 Friday at Bartlett.

South's Kimberly Jettenberg shot a 280 to lead the Wolverines, who lost despite a 12-point edge in the overall scoring, 3,074 to 3,062.

Bartlett got the edge by winning the A team and B team competition.

Eagle River 5, Service 2

A-team shooters from Service enjoyed success but Eagle River won everything else Friday to claim a 5-2 win in a CIC riflery meet in Eagle River.

Clara Veelman's 286 led the Cougars to victory in the A team competition, 1,111 to 1,098. But Eagle River topped the 1,000-point mark at the A, B and C levels to post the overall team victory.

Clarissa Deleon led the Wolves with a 281.

All four of West's A team shooters shot in the 280s. Hunter Hall did the same for Chugiak, finishing with a score of 280.
