Anchorage police say people in a busy Midtown shopping area might hear noise from training exercises being conducted by SWAT team members Thursday.
Police said in a statement that training would be conducted in the vicinity of Northern Lights Boulevard's intersection with Eagle Street, slightly north of The Mall at Sears, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"Loud noises/explosions may be heard periodically during that time," police wrote.
The training is closed to the public.
