Anchorage police seek Florida fisherman who missed flight home

A Florida man last seen more than a week ago is being sought by Anchorage police after he didn't board a flight home from a summer fishing job in Alaska.

Anchorage police spokeswoman Renee Oistad said Thursday that local officers, as well as the Citrus County Sheriff's Department in Florida, were looking for 30-year-old Timothy Ludlow. Ludlow had visited the state with friends to work on a fishing boat.

"Timothy was supposed to return to Florida on a flight leaving Anchorage on Sept. 6 but he missed his plane," Oistad wrote. "Timothy was last seen by his friend on or about Sept. 9 when Timothy left a restaurant on Fifth Avenue in downtown Anchorage with an unknown female."

Oistad said there weren't any reported medical concerns regarding Ludlow and that he had ample resources for travel.

"Obviously he was compensated for his job and he had airline reservations," Oistad said. "He certainly has family that would be willing to bring him home -- it's not a case of him being stuck as much as not knowing where he is."

Anyone who sees Ludlow is asked to call Anchorage police at 786-8900.
