A search continued Tuesday for two overdue boaters last seen in the Kuskokwim River village of Napaskiak on Sunday night.
Alaska State Troopers said Ronald Green, 40, of Eek, and Alicia Sharp, 23, of Quinhagak, were spotted in a red canoe near Eek Lake at about 8:30 p.m.
They were reported overdue by an Eek village public safety officer after they failed to return to the village, near the Kuskokwim River mouth about 35 miles southwest of Napaskiak.
Troopers said increasing wind and rain have prevented aerial searches for the pair, and they have asked local airlines to be on the lookout for the canoe.
Troopers said two boats are searching Eek Lake, located about halfway between Napaskiak and Eek.
