A man was killed following early morning gunfire Sunday at an East Anchorage residence, Anchorage police reported.
In a release, Anchorage Police Department spokesperson Jennifer Castro said that police received a shots-fired call around 2 a.m., in the area of Lane Street and Fifth Avenue.
Upon arrival, police found that a man had been shot at a residence on Lane Street.
"He was transported by medics to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased," Castro wrote.
Few additional details were immediately available, but police were investigating the death as a homicide.
