Troopers say no one injured in Wasilla plane crash

Alaska State Troopers say a pilot walked away from a plane crash in Wasilla Friday without injuries.

The pilot, 44-year-old Mark Binggeli, reported he lost power while taking off in his Piper Super Cub from a local airstrip, according to a troopers dispatch posted online.

Troopers got a report at 1:30 p.m. that Binggeli's plane had crashed near Settlers Bay Golf Course. He had no passengers, said Beth Ipsen, troopers spokeswoman.

Robert Ackles, managing member of Settlers Bay Golf Course, said the plane was found in a wooded area on golf course property. Ackles said the plane was totaled. Binggeli was not injured, troopers said.
