Forecasters are predicting a bit of relief from the hot, dry summer weather in Southcentral Alaska, with overcast skies and rain showers expected in parts of the region by Wednesday.
"Its going to be a little cooler and a little wetter," National Weather Service meteorologist Jason Ahsenmacher said.
The break in the unusually warm weather is coming thanks to a low-pressure system from the North Pacific that is merging with a system from the Bering Strait and Chukchi Sea, Ahsenmacher said.
Rainfall amounts will vary depending on terrain.
