FAIRBANKS—University of Alaska President Pat Gamble named three candidates with long ties to the university to serve as interim chancellor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks after the retirement of UAF Chancellor Brian Rogers in late August.
The three are UA regent Mike Powers, UA Geophysical Institute director Bob McCoy and UAF vice chancellor Mike Sfraga. Gamble said he announced the names to get feedback from the faculty, staff and others with an interest in the matter.
The interim chancellor would hold that position for 10 months to a year, until the job is filled on a long-term basis.
