Shannon Fore of Anchorage pulled off a pair of triathlon victories over the weekend, winning in Wasilla on Saturday and Kenai on Sunday.
Fore, competing in the men's 40-44 age group, captured the overall title at Wasilla's Why Not Tri? He clocked 52 minutes, 16 seconds for the 400-meter swim, 9.5-mile bike and 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) run.
On Sunday, Fore captured the sprint event at the Tri the Kenai, clocking 57:08 for the 500-yard swim, 10-mile bike and 5-K trail run.
Anchorage athletes swept the titles in Wasilla and also seized the intermediate and sprint titles in Kenai.
Katelyn Stearns won the women's race in Wasilla in 56:17 and was third overall.
In Kenai, Jenifer Kohout won the women's intermediate course – 1,000-yard swim, 20-mile bike and 10-K run – in 2:12:43. Jason Lamoreaux won the men's race in 1:47.58. And Lori Deschamps took the women's sprint title in 59:42.
