Anchorage residents can expect to see heavy smoke above the Airport Heights neighborhood starting at 7 a.m. Wednesday.
But don't be alarmed, fire officials say.
The fire is a controlled exercise being conducted for training purposes at the Anchorage Fire Department training center at Merrill Field, the department said in an early morning release.
