The West and Chugiak boys are tied for first place going into Saturday's final day of the Freshman-Sophomore track and field meet at Dimond High.
Both teams scored 42 points Friday to take a slim lead over South, which is in third place with 40 points.
In the girls' competition, Emma Nelson won the high jump and long jump to help Chugiak into a sizeable first-day lead with 59 points, 24 more than anyone else.
Friday's only other double winner was Bartlett's Rose Lega, who won the shot put and discus.
