A fire destroyed an East Anchorage mobile home and nearby vehicle Thursday, according to fire officials.
The Anchorage Fire Department received multiple 911 calls around 1 p.m. reporting smoke at a mobile home park at 227 Newell Street. By the time firefighters arrived, flames had fully engulfed the mobile home, said a statement from John See, an AFD public information officer.
Crews used foam and water on the fire. The flames spread to one of two nearby vehicles. The vehicle and mobile home were a total loss. Another vehicle had light damage, See said.
No one was injured in the fire. The American Red Cross of Alaska helped one person find lodging.
On Jan. 6, AFD responded to a fire at the same mobile home. It burned a back room, See said.
The cause of Thursday's fire remained undetermined, he said.
