The top seeded Seldovia boys cruised past host Lumen Christi on Wednesday night in the opening round of the Class 1A Peninsula Conference basketball tournament.
The Sea Otters -- who are ranked No. 1 in the statewide Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches poll -- got a game-high 23 points from Seth O'Leary and 16 from Aidan Philpot in their 68-36 win to advance into a Thursday semifinal against Ninilchik. The Wolverines defeated Birchwood Christian 55-40 on Wednesday.
Other winners in the boys tournament included Nikolaevsk, which downed Wasilla Lake Christian, and Cook Inlet Academy, which got past Kodiak ESS.
In the girls tournament, Lumen Christi and Cook Inlet Academy posted wins to reach the winner's bracket semifinals.
The four-day tournament continues Thursday with five boys and two girls games.
