A 19-year-old Fairbanks man faces multiple charges after pulling a gun on a woman and robbing her Tuesday evening, Alaska State Troopers said.
According to an online trooper dispatch, Levi Skulstad was in a car with a female acquaintance around 5:46 p.m. Tuesday when he pulled out a handgun and demanded that she leave her money and get out of the car. Skulstad left the victim near the fairgrounds off College Road in Fairbanks, troopers said.
Temperatures were around minus 38 degrees at Fairbanks International Airport, about five miles away, at the time, according to the National Weather Service.
Troopers provided a description of Skulstad and the vehicle he was driving to Fairbanks police, who found and stopped him. When stopped by police, Skulstad was in possession of marijuana and "bills in the denomination reportedly stolen," troopers wrote.
Skulstad was charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree assault and third-degree theft, and was taken to the Fairbanks Correctional Center. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
Troopers also wrote that the vehicle was seized and a search of it was pending. Investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
