An early morning shooting has sent a 26-year-old man to the hospital with "severe" injuries, the Anchorage Police Department said.
In a press release issued by Thursday morning, Anchorage police wrote that the victim, whom they did not identify, was shot multiple times during the course of a home invasion shortly after midnight Thursday morning.
Three suspects forced their way into the East Anchorage home, at the 200 block of Zappa Place, near Muldoon Road, and tried to rob one of the home's occupants, according to a police account.
The victim sustained injuries that were severe, police said, but not life-threatening, and was transported to a local hospital.
No arrests have been made in the case.
Anchorage police said in the release that the shooting appears targeted and investigators believe it may have been drug related.
