PALMER -- Three men were shot and a woman injured as home invasions were reported in two locations near Wasilla on Monday evening, authorities say.
A man in an apartment was shot during a home invasion reported moments before two other men showed up at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center with gunshot wounds, Alaska State Troopers said Tuesday.
A few hours earlier, a woman in a home about 10 miles away was hurt after she was attacked during a home invasion involving two men, troopers say.
Investigators are still piecing together what happened and whether the three events are linked, spokeswoman Beth Ipsen said Tuesday afternoon.

Two men reportedly entered an apartment near the Three Bears store at Trunk Road and the Palmer-Wasilla Highway on Monday, threatened the occupants and then shot one of them, a man, troopers said. The victim also had a gun and was able to shoot at them before they fled. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
That shooting was reported around 6:50 p.m., according to an online troopers dispatch. Borough medics treated a 26-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds and took him to the hospital in serious condition, authorities said.
At about that time, two men showed up at the Mat-Su Regional emergency room suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, Ipsen said in an email. They remained in critical condition at the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
Ipsen said because of the men's condition and medical treatment, troopers haven't been able to talk to them to find out how they got the gunshot wounds.
She couldn't say who dropped them off or even if they came in the same vehicle, but they didn't come in an ambulance.
Another home invasion occurred about three hours earlier at a house some 10 miles away off Wasilla-Fishhook Road, authorities say.
At around 4:10 p.m., troopers responded to a home near Mile 8.5 of the road north of Wasilla and learned two unidentified men walked in through an unlocked front door and attacked a woman and her juvenile son, troopers say. The woman sustained injuries described as not life-threatening. She was taken to the hospital.
A police dog tracked the suspects to a spot where a parked vehicle was used to leave the area, troopers say.
Two separate trooper units are investigating, Ipsen said: Patrol troopers are looking into the Wasilla-Fishhook Road invasion and the Alaska Bureau of Investigation is looking into the shooting-related invasion.
Around 9 p.m., after the two home invasions, borough crews were again called out to "stage" -- wait at a safe distance -- after someone in a neighborhood about a mile closer to Palmer reported hearing a man yelling at someone to get off the property and then gunshots, emergency services director Dennis Brodigan said. But the logs indicate there was no medical response needed at that location.
