Walker-Mallott swearing-in: How and where to watch

Gov.-elect Bill Walker and Lt. Gov.-elect Byron Mallott will be sworn in Monday, Dec. 1, with opportunities for Alaskans to witness the event in person and remotely via live stream and television broadcast.

The ceremony

Walker and Mallott will be sworn in at 11:30 a.m. at Juneau's Centennial Hall Convention Center, 101 Egan Dr.

Hosted by master of ceremonies Craig Fleener, the event will include performances from the Thunder Mountain High School Brass Quintet, the Crimson Quartet, the Mount St. Elias Dancers, and the Filipino Ati Atihan Dancers. The oaths of office will be administered by Justice Daniel E. Winfree and retired Justice Walter L. Carpeneti.

A public reception will follow the ceremony.

The Juneau community will host a celebration from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall, 320 W. Willoughby Ave.

Attending in person

Parking is available at Marine Park and the Juneau cruise ship terminal. A complimentary shuttle will pick up from Marine Park at 11:10 a.m. and from the cruise ship terminal at 11:15 a.m. and provide return drop-off at downtown shops at 12:45 p.m.

A complimentary shuttle will also provide service from the Mendenhall Valley. Buses will depart the Nugget Mall parking lot at 10:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. and return at 12:45 p.m.

Overflow seating for the ceremony is available at the Juneau Arts and Culture Center, across the parking lot from Centennial Hall. The ceremony will play on a 12 foot by 12 foot screen in the auditorium, which accommodates up to 230 people.

Live broadcasts

The swearing-in will be live streamed at 360north.org, ktuu.com, ktva.com and youralaskalink.com.

Live television broadcasts will air on KTUU, KTVA, KTOO and Fox/ABC.
