Aces get forward Bryan Cameron on assignment

With the Alaska Aces set to open training camp Friday -- 10 a.m., Ben Boeke Arena -- the reigning ECHL champs have been assigned forward Bryan Cameron.

Cameron, 25, a former third-round pick of the Los Angeles Kings, was assigned to the Aces from AHL Iowa, like the Aces the affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild.

Cameron, entering his fifth pro season, last season for the Central Hockey League's Arizona Sundogs delivered 20-30--50 totals in 58 regular-season games and 1-3--4 totals in 11 playoff games. He owns 60 games of AHL experience, all of it with Abbotsford, a former Aces affiliate, in his rookie season.

Cameron has previously played in the ECHL with Victoria, Utah and San Francisco -- Victoria and San Francisco both are history, defunct.

The Aces, affiliated with the Wild and the St. Louis Blues, expect to receive several players from those organizations.
