Alaskans who wish to go to the polls in the Aug. 19 primary election must be registered to vote by Sunday, July 20.
July 20 is also the deadline to update voter registration records before the primary.
All Division of Elections local offices will be open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday to process new registrations and updates. You may verify your voter registration, print out forms, and find local offices and polling places at the Division of Elections website.
In addition to primary races for the Legislature, governor, lieutenant governor, U.S. House and U.S. Senate, the August ballot will ask voters to consider an initiative that would repeal oil tax legislation passed by Alaska lawmakers last year.
