Two pianists won top honors at the Miss Alaska Pageant in Anchorage.
Abby Hancock was selected as Miss Alaska 2010 and Angela Klapperich was named Miss Alaska Outstanding Teen 2010.
Hancock, who was also given the Lifestyle & Fitness award at the June 19 event, received a $5,000 cash scholarship and a four-year tuition waiver at the University of Alaska. She will compete in the national Miss America competition in Las Vegas on Jan. 15, 2011.
Klapperich received a $2,000 cash scholarship and will represent Alaska at the Miss America Outstanding Teen competition in Florida in August.
Katy Lovegreen was the first runner-up in the Miss Alaska competition ("Miss Sweetheart") and also was determined to have given the best interview. Christina Roper was the second runner-up. Singer Eden Barrington was the third runner-up and took top honors in the talent portion. Jenny DiGrappa was fourth runner-up.
In the teen competition, Hannah Rockwell was the first runner-up and Chante Mitchell was the second runner-up. Klapperich swept the top awards for best interview, talent and Lifestyle & Fitness.
