Motorcyclist killed, another injured in Kenai Peninsula crash

A 62-year-old Soldotna man died and another man was seriously injured when their motorcycles crashed Tuesday evening on a Kenai Peninsula highway, Alaska State Troopers say.

Thomas Clinton Salmon, 62, died at the scene near Mile 115 of the Sterling Highway south of Soldotna, troopers said in an dispatch posted Wednesday. Jason Thomas McWilliams, 47, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital.

The accident occurred when the two lost control of their 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycles on a curve, troopers said. They went off the road and crashed in a ditch.

An investigation continues.
