Update Wednesday, August 9, 2017: Anchorage police said John Andrew was arrested on Wednesday afternoon.
Original story: Anchorage police said Monday a warrant has been issued for a local man due to his alleged involvement in a drunken driving crash that seriously injured a passenger.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. on July 29 on Gambell Street, according to an Anchorage Police Department statement written by spokesman MJ Thim.
An investigation found John Andrew, 53, was driving a silver 2006 Chevrolet SUV under the influence of alcohol with two passengers, Thim said.
"The vehicle was traveling south on Gambell Street when it hopped the median, rolled, and landed in the northbound lane of Ingra Street," Thim said.
A female passenger was ejected from the car and was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, while Andrew and the second passenger were transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
Now, Andrew is wanted on charges of DUI, driving with a revoked license, reckless driving and two counts first-degree assault.
The police department is asking anyone with information about Andrew's whereabouts to call its dispatchers at 907-786-8900, or to submit an anonymous tip through Anchorage Crime Stoppers.
