Firefighters were working to extinguish a condo fire south of Midtown Anchorage on Friday evening, an Anchorage Fire Department official said.
Units responded around 7:40 p.m. to the Foxwood Condominiums complex on Foxridge Way, east of C Street and north of Dimond Boulevard, assistant fire chief Alex Boyd said. Flames were visible on the roof on a condo building, and billowing smoke could be seen from other parts of town.
The fire department asked people to stay away from the area as crews work the scene of the fire. No additional information about potential injuries or fatalities, or the cause of the blaze, was immediately available.
