A man was found dead outdoors Saturday morning in Anchorage's Fairview neighborhood, according to police.
He was found near the intersection of 12th Avenue and Fairbanks Street, the Anchorage Police Department said in a news release. Police are investigating the man's death and said cold weather may have been a contributing factor.
Police have not yet identified the man, pending notification of next of kin.
Anchorage police are also investigating a second death possibly related to exposure, according to a later release. No details about the victim were released.
Officials are urging the public to be prepared for low temperatures and winter weather if heading outside. Police also asked community members to call "if they see citizens who appear to be struggling or vulnerable to the temperatures."
