A man's body was found in waters near the local fish-processing district in the island town of Kodiak Wednesday morning, according to the Kodiak Police Department.
According to a KPD statement, the man was spotted in the water near the 600 block of Shelikof Street.
"The man was pronounced dead at the scene," police wrote. "Foul play is not suspected at this time and the investigation continues."
Darrylynn Ford, an assistant to Kodiak Police Chief Ronda Wallace, said nothing further on the death was immediately available Wednesday afternoon.
The man wasn't initially identified by police, pending notification of his family.
