Sen. Lisa Murkowski hasn't given any indication she's planning a third-party run for Senate if she's beaten by Joe Miller in the GOP primary, but Miller -- in a Twitter post that was quickly taken down -- today compared such a move to prostitution. "What's the difference between selling out your party's values and the oldest profession?" Miller's tweet said, according to a blog post at The Hill. The Daily Beast yesterday reported an unnamed Murkowski insider as saying the campaign was considering the possibility of an independent party bid or other options. And Murkowski supporter Andrew Halcro told the Daily News he approached the Alaska Libertarian Party to discuss their candidate giving his ballot slot to Murkowski. Halcro stressed he was not acting on behalf of the Murkowski campaign. More than 20,000 ballots remain to be counted in the race, in which Miller is ahead by 1,668 votes. UPDATE: A Miller spokesman told The Daily Caller today he was directing his tweet at the Alaska Libertarian Party, not Murkowski.
